We are a non-profit tackling early childhood malnutrition, primarily in remote and marginalized communities.
Our programs provide nutritious meals for children under six and mothers, enable health-seeking behaviour at the grassroot level, measure impact, and advocate the cause in alignment with SDGs 2 and 3, WHO global nutrition targets and the national nutrition mission.

01 — The Crisis
Child malnutrition is a silent emergency that requires urgent action.
Nutritional deficiency hampers physical growth and cognitive development, hinders education attainment, limits livelihood opportunities, and perpetuates poverty and crime.
- 1/3rd of children under 5 years are stunted in India
- 20% of children under 5 are wasted
- 59% of adolescent girls are anemic
- 20% of maternal deaths are linked to anemiaemic
- Inadequate nutrition fuels a human development crisis that can cost ~3% of GDP
02 — The Theory of Change
Nutrition adequacy, awareness and advocacy can save lives, catalyse sustainable social impact and national growth.
Mothers and children form a critically vulnerable group at the core of an inter-generational cycle of malnutrition and poor health. We cannot achieve sustainable social impact or socioeconomic growth without ending malnutrition first — adequate nutrition, food security, and maternal and child healthcare are the foundation for change. Ensuring proper nutrition during pregnancy, infancy, and childhood helps break the cycle of malnutrition, support healthy development, and build stronger communities for generations to come.
03 — The Model
We have an effective solution
Our approach focuses on improving maternal and child nutrition through practical, community-based interventions that address malnutrition at its root. By promoting better nutrition practices, early intervention, breastfeeding, and healthy growth, we work towards lasting improvements in the health and well-being of mothers and children.
- Significant reduction in cases of malnutrition, maternal and child anemia
- Reduction in child stunting, wasting and being underweight
- Substantial growth in weight of new-borns
- Increased adoption of breastfeeding
Our programs are scalable, sustainable and inclusive.
ANNADA’s interventions employ a fit-to-purpose nutrition solution that provides energy-dense, fortified, and culturally relevant meals to improve maternal and child nutrition across diverse communities and difficult geographies. Our programs address malnutrition, food insecurity, maternal health, child health, and nutrition deficiencies through locally relevant and sustainable approaches.
Communications and community engagement are aligned with local sensitivities to encourage awareness, improve nutrition practices, and enable long-term behaviour change. Each program is evidence-based and outcome-driven, focusing on sustainable nutrition solutions, healthy growth, and improved health outcomes for mothers, children, and vulnerable communities.
